We are currently hiring for the role of an experienced Codes Enforcement Officer with the potential for advancement to the position of Chief Building Official upon the retirement of the current incumbent at the end of the year. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in upholding building codes, overseeing inspections, and the potential for future supervision of departmental operations. |
Essential Duties Performed
100%-Codes Enforcement Officer Duties OTHER DUTIES PERFORMED - Attends training classes in related subjects;
- Periodically patrols or inspects an assigned area to monitor for violations of local codes;
- Serves as a member of various employee teams;
- Develops work plan for Codes Department;

Minimum Education Requirements
- Minimum of three years of recent experience in a City or County as a Codes Enforcement Officer.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes, regulations, and ordinances.
- Inspector certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Ten (10) years of experience in inspection or construction, at least three of which have been in a supervisory role.
