Acceptable Materials
The following materials may be put in the container:
- Aluminum Pie Pans (must be clean)
- Aluminum, Steel, and Tin Cans
- Box board (example: cereal, cracker and shoe boxes)
- Corrugated Cardboard - flattened (example: packing boxes)
- Junk Mail
- Magazines, Catalogs
- Newspapers and Inserts
- Office Paper, School Paper, File Folders
- Paper Bags
- Phone Books
- Plastic Bags
- Plastics No. 1 - No. 7 (example: milk jugs, soft drink and water bottles)
Unacceptable Materials
The following materials may not be put in the container:
- Batteries of any kind
- Bubble Wrap
- Diapers
- Food soiled paper products (such as pizza boxes)
- Glass - no type of glass is accepted for recycling effective January 1, 2017
- Hardback Books
- Household Hazardous Waste
- Kitchen Waste
- Oil, Paint, Chemicals*
- Plastic takeout containers and utensils
- Styrofoam
- Tires
- Waxed Cartons (example: orange juice and chicken broth cartons
- Yard Waste
