Solid waste collection in the City of Alcoa will be adjusted during Thanksgiving week. Households normally scheduled for pick up on Thursday, November 28, will receive their service on Friday, November 29th. Friday’s residential solid waste collection will run as normal. Recycling collection normally collected on Friday will be collected on Saturday, November 30. There will be no brush or bulky waste the week of November 25th. Crews will attempt to collect leaves citywide Monday, November 25th through Wednesday, November 27th. Commercial and industrial waste will not be collected on Thursday; normal commercial routes will resume on Friday.
The Alcoa / Maryville / Blount County Landfill will be closed Thursday for Thanksgiving. They will resume normal operating hours of 8:00 a.m. until 5:15 p.m. on Friday, November 29.
