The City of Alcoa was informed that the Tennessee Department of Transportation has contracted the resurfacing of East and West Hunt Road between Old Knoxville Highway and Louisville Road. The work is scheduled to begin on or near September 28 and should be completed by October 20. Inclement weather or unforeseen conditions may extend this project.
The work will take place at night between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Lane shifts and uneven pavement should be expected for the full duration of the project. Flagging and temporary lane closures may be needed for short periods of time.
Motorists in the area should exercise caution while traveling through the construction zone and allow extra travel time to reach their destination.
