The City of Alcoa has contracted Envocore to update all water meters from July to November. This process involves crews that will be on property installing new components and gathering meter data. The contractor will have City of Alcoa contractor labels on their vehicles. Due to a tight work schedule, the city requests customers to refrain from asking the contractors questions. Instead, please direct all questions to project managers Andy McCorkle or Chipper Wyatt at 865-380-4800.
During this time, customers will not lose water service but may notice a different type of meter lid installed on the meter box. The city asks residents to not tamper with City of Alcoa property which includes the water meter lids, boxes, and all components inside the box.
As a reminder, if any customer needs their water service turned off at the meter to contact Utility Services (865-380-4800) during normal business hours or the City of Alcoa Water Treatment Plant (865-380-4921) after hours and on weekends. This service is provided for emergency situations only. The city encourages all customers to have a private shut off valve installed for their own use.
