TDOT informed the City of Alcoa that “Motorists traveling on Alcoa Highway (SR 115/US 129) should be aware of upcoming resurfacing activities that will have an effect on traffic."
"Beginning Monday, December 13, northbound traffic on Alcoa Highway (SR 115/US 129) will be shifted to one lane from Louisville Road to the new Alcoa Highway Bridge. This lane shift will take place each day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and all work is expected to be complete on or before Thursday, December 16. This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions.”
City of Alcoa also announced that there will be intermittent lane closures along Hunt Road and Mills Street until work is completed in that area.
Motorists should take extra precaution and allow additional travel time when driving through these areas.
