BLOUNT COUNTY
KNOXVILLE – Motorists traveling in Blount County should be aware of an upcoming traffic shift on Alcoa Highway that will have an impact on motorists near McGhee Tyson Airport.
Beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday night, December 18, all northbound traffic will be required to detour at the off ramp at Hunt Road, and then return to Alcoa Highway using the Hunt Road on ramp. This traffic pattern does not affect southbound motorists. All work is expected to be complete by 6 a.m. on Saturday morning, December 19.
This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.
