[ARCHIVED] City of Alcoa Announces Public Works Promotions

The City of Alcoa announced promotions within its Public Works and Engineering Division. Shane Snoderly, former Senior Civil Engineer has been promoted to Director of Public Works and Engineering while Megan Brooks has been promoted from Civil Engineer II to Assistant Director/Chief Engineer for Public Works & Engineering.


Brooks began working for the City of Alcoa in November 2017 as a Civil Engineer II in Streets and Stormwater. She previously worked for C2RL, where she started in 2012.  She took some time off in the spring of 2016 to stay home with her 3 children ages 11, 8 and 6. She has worked in design, construction litigation support, expert witnessing and other state and local government traffic and transportation related work.  She graduated from the University of Tennessee with both her Masters and Bachelor’s degrees in Civil Engineering.  Megan has been active in the Institute for Transportation Engineers Tennessee Section (TSITE), as well as Tennessee Stormwater Association (TNSA) and the Tennessee Chapter of the American Public Works Association (TCAPWA) since working for the City.

 

Snoderly will assume full director duties January 1st. He began his career at the City of Alcoa in December 2012 as a Civil Engineer II. Prior to coming to the City of Alcoa, he was a supervisor for the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s (TDOT) design survey office. Snoderly is a 2000 graduate of the University of Tennessee Knoxville where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.  He received his license as a professional civil engineer in 2004 and also become a licensed professional land surveyor in 2015.  He is a member of American Water Works Association (AWWA), Water Environment Federation (WEF), Tennessee Chapter of American Public Works (TCAPWA), and Tennessee Association of Professional Land Surveyors (TAPS).  Shane is native of Alcoa and still lives in Blount County with his family.
