ALCOA POLICE DETECTIVES INVESTIGATE HOMICIDE
ON TOPSIDE ROAD
City of Alcoa Police Chief David Carswell announced this morning that they are investigating an apparent homicide that occurred last night on Topside Road in Louisville.
Officers responded at 10:42 p.m. Tuesday to Topside Road at Buck Drive where a male who had suffered multiple stab wounds was found. The man was taken by AMR Ambulance Service to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Alcoa police detectives responded to the scene at approximately 11 p.m. and initiated a homicide investigation. Blount County Sheriff’s deputies, City of Alcoa Fire Department personnel and a Knox County Sheriff’s Office aviation unit also responded to assist at the scene and aide in the search for a suspect.
A preliminary autopsy is being performed this morning at the University of Tennessee’s Regional Forensic Center. The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
