The City of Alcoa advises motorists on upcoming lane closures for water line replacement work that will begin on Saturday night, August 17, 2024, at the intersection of East Lincoln Road and South Hall Road. The lane closures will begin at the East Lincoln Road entrance to the Alcoa Tennessee Federal Credit Union. Construction will begin at 7:00 p.m. nightly to reduce impacts to traffic.
The duration of the project is expected to last approximately two weeks. The westbound lane will be reduced at the intersection from three lanes to one lane. The right-turn lane (to turn north on South Hall Road) and the forward lane (to cross South Hall Road to West Lincoln Street) will be closed. The remaining lane, normally the left-turn lane onto South Hall Road, will be used for all westbound traffic at that intersection. The single eastbound lane (traveling towards East Broadway) on East Lincoln Road will remain open.
Motorists should take extra caution as workers will be present and allow additional travel time to reach their destination when traveling through this location. Motorists are also advised to seek alternate routes through this area until work at the intersection is complete
