Fire Suppression

The City of Alcoa Fire Department (AFD) protects a population of over 10,000 citizens covering 14.8 square miles. This is accomplished using three engines, two aerial ladders and six support vehicles.

During 2020, AFD responded to 2,071 emergency incidents. Of those incidents, 583 were structure, vehicle, brush, other fires and alarms.

The department is made up of 39 full-time employees consisting of:
  • 33 line personnel
  • One administrative assistant
  • One administrative captain
  • One deputy chief
  • One fire chief
  • One fire marshal
  • One fire inspector
