A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) will arrive July 21, 2019 to examine all aspects of the Alcoa Police Department’s policies, procedures, management, operations and support services. Read on...
The City of Alcoa engages in a number of varied activities while providing municipal services for its residents and support services to the operation of City departments. These services include, but are not limited to:
Data processing services
Economic development initiatives and housing
Employment and community services
Fleet and property maintenance services
Garbage collection and disposal
Planning and inspection services
Police and fire protection
Public works improvements
A great variety of goods, equipment, and services must be purchased for the departments and divisions performing these services. These purchases are processed through the Purchasing and Warehousing Division.
While it is beyond the scope of this page to list all of the products and services which the City buys, the Purchasing and Warehousing Division is interested in your product/services if it is needed by the City.
The Purchasing and Warehousing Division maintains an "open door" policy to all companies and citizens in the purchasing of products and services. Therefore, it is important to both you and the City that your product or service be introduced in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
At various times, the Purchasing and Warehousing Division may request assistance from vendors in the determination of specifications and/or in product demonstrations. It is understood that this assistance in no way commits the City to purchase from a vendor serving in this capacity.
At all times, the Purchasing and Warehousing Division operates with integrity and fairness to its suppliers. Through this policy, we hope to maintain an atmosphere in which the City, vendors, and citizens can work together for the provision of the City's "Goods and Services" needs.
